Oddly, when I go into config and say "search now" the show(s) I want get added instantly, provide dtehy are within 3 days. For some reason NEWA is not doing this automatically anymore, and I have been missing shows.
I also have the "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\NEWA_AutoSearch.exe" line in my PostUpdateEPG.bat as insurance, but neither is doing the auto-record.
Any things I need to check? [Specifically, Auto-recording "The Mentalist (" but like I said - manual operation works fine ]
Cheers
k.
[One more thing - the WIKI for NEWA says
Code:
If set, the Auto-Search/Record feature will only run one time per day. It will only run when at least 1 hour has elapsed since your scheduled EPG update time for that day. This helps ensure that your searches are executed against the most recent EPG load and only run one time each day.
if my computer is set to sleep after an hour of inactivity and the last activity is an EPG Update, then will NEWA auto-search run?]
2 days ago my nPVR program stopped recording programs and began producing errors when I tried to delete previously recorded shows. I can watch previously recorded programs with no issues. I assume this means nPVR somehow lost privelages to modify files, but I can't see why. I can delete files I have watched manually using windows explorer.
Things I have tried:
I had not yet updated to v 3.5.7, so I tried that...no effect
I used windows explorer to "share" my recording directory with "everyone" and gave read and write permission...still has same problem.
I've attached my logs. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?...going to be a real bummer when the fall season begins next week
When I change channels this happens every time. I unistalled and reinstall the most current version. I have 2 Hauppauge tuner 2500's and it works great on Media Center, but not on Nextpvr. Running windows 8.1. Records great using NextPvr, but live TV is an issue. Attached are the log files.
NextPvr is needed so I can upgrade to windows 10. Seems to be the best of the bunch for TV and Recordings.
This one definitely falls under "first world problems"
My beloved harmony 785 remote has bitten the dust and I'm looking at a replacement. The Harmony Touch looks good with one problem - the skip forward buttons are in an amazingly awkward position at the very top of the remote above the screen!
I've been experimenting to see if I can get the cursor navigation buttons to work as skip forwards and skip back by editing the keymappings.xml file so I can use the d-pad on the remote for playback skipping (in a similar way to Plex / Kodi). This works perfectly when playing back and skipping but unfortunately makes navigating the EPG impossible (detects right keypress as skip forwards and jumps a whole day forward).
Not convinced there is a fix for this but has anyone else tried to do something similar with any success?
X-Newa is unable to connect to the server with Nextpvr in the morning. The solution is to walk to the server and stop the NPVR Recording service and kill the ndigitalhost.exe process. It will then work fine for 24 hrs and fail again the next morning.
Its something I've been meaning to fix for a while but haven't yet found a solution and wondered if you had any suggestions on what I could try other than walking to the server or how to better diagnose the issue??
Worst case scenario is I could run a batch file on server wake to kill the process and service.... but is there a better way??
[INDENT][/INDENT]REM Restart recording service
taskkill /IM ndigitalhost.exe /F
taskkill /IM ndigitalhost.exe /F
NET STOP "NPVR Recording Service"
NET START "NPVR Recording Service"[/INDENT][/INDENT]
My TV tuner (WinTV-HVR-2255) gets fine reception with the WinTV app from Hauppauge, but the NPVR has to buffer (alot) and sometimes locks up or freezes and continues.
Whats up with that... Only happens on UHF channels.
Running NPVR 3.5.7 and Kodi NPVR client 1.10.8 with Kodi 15.1
I haven't attached the log files as I believe this is more of a question on how to handle a problem I currently have.
My live tv buffer file will keep growing if the Kodi clients connection is abruptly disconnected. So the power went off the other day and I have the NPVR server on a battery backup but the Kodi Clients are not on battery backup. I noticed the Live TV Buffer directory was still growing with no clients connected and streaming. How do I get around this, say if I'm not home for a week and the power goes down and comes back I would come home to a full HDD.
Is there a way to have like a keep-alive check or something and stop server from buffering to directory when clients are actually not connected?
