Have anyone tried to have two network card in the GBPVR Pc and have one card with fixed IP dedicated for MVP via a crossover cable. And the other networkcard for normal LAN traffic using DHCP or fixed IP?

Is anyone using MVP via crossovercable?
is the response faster when starting and "remoteclicking"?
Using DELL P4 1.5GB RAM 250 GB HD + DLINK DNS313 netdisk 1,5TB, 2 pieces of Hauppauge PVR150 w/45-button remote, 1 Popcorn Hour 110. Win XP SP3. GB-PVR v1.4.7 Plugins: Xrecord

This group has replied to me that a crossover cable to the MVP and usb wireless connection to the lan (so I can get epg data) WOULD work, but I haven't tried it yet...

Yes, I have a second NIC in my GBPVR pc using a completely separate IP address just for my MVP network. This goes to a switch, one MVP is hard wired, the second via wireless G connection to the same switch.

The only minor problem I had was finding a freeware DHCP server where you could specify which network to operate on.

GBPVR & all plugins use the first network with a gateway specified for all internet traffic, it seems to work well. (touch wood Big Grin )
