Hi Everyone!

First, Massive thanks to sub for all your hard work [Image: biggrin.gif]

When changing channels whether by just going up and down the channel list, or pressing the green button and browsing the channels and then making my choice GBPVR freezes, locking up the whole computer, forcing me to pull the plug to reboot.  This happens without fail, especially when I change channel when the OSD is up.  I have played with my config settings, codecs, overlay, vmr7 (no luck with vmr9) and it hasnt made a difference.  If it is a codec problem where can i aquire other MPEG2 codecs from? cough*freely*cough  (only Intervideo in the drop down list)

System Specs
PIII 1Ghz
PVR-350
USB-UIRT + Cable Box

Secondly, I have scheduled about 10 recordings so far, only 1 of which hasnt failed.  For no reason at all it just isnt recording.  Does GB-PVR need to be in focus or shut down or something I dont know about after scheduling a recording? I wont be able to enjoy Arsenals victory over and over and over tomorrow [Image: biggrin.gif] Maybe it's the screensaver?

Thirdly - I can create a new remote profile for USB-UIRT, but if i try to make another one it just ploughs on through the setup without me pressing anything on my remote.  I have to reboot for it to work again [Image: rock.gif]

Fourth?  It also created a 200mb log file the other night when it crashed whiile I was sleeping...

It's such a shame because when it's working it's fantastic... unfortunately it only works a few minutes at a time for me. i'm so envious of everyone who has it working well.

1 more thing, is there a way to jump to the TV guide from Live TV? Or do you have to go to menu and then choose TV guide?

Thanks for listening,

Anthony [Image: biggrin.gif]

1/ Do you have your system configured to use the tv out on your PVR350? If so, disable it and go back to software decoding. Its been discussed many times in the past - the PVR350 drivers just plain dont work with some system's hardware. If you're not using the PVR350 tv out, let me know and we'll investigate further.

2/ When you get a recording that fails, zip and email your log files from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr to me at support@devnz.com. Include some details about what you were trying to record, and what time the recording was supposed to start and finish. You may what to check if your capture device is sharing an IRQ with any other device - this can often stop a device from functioning.

3/ Some else has mentioned this has occurred for them too. I've got it on my list of things to look at before the next release.

4/ Yes, I generate large logs at the moment. They're still relatively small in comparision to the video files you're capturing, but I'll give an option for the next release to turn down the logging level.  I'll leave the default to generate lots of info, but you'll be able to change it if required. If it crashes I need this sort of diagnostic information to work it out.

Hi Sub,

Thanks for the replies. Last night after starting this topic I setup 3 recordings and switched off power saving for my monitor, hey presto 3 recordings available this morning [Image: smile.gif]

Yep using PVR-350 tv out..i have a new alienware (amd) system on the way - hopefully i'll have more success with it's motherboard [Image: smile.gif]

Cheers,

Anthony
