OK. Although the title might be a little confusing I am having a problem and would greatly appreciate anyones help. I a media center box with the gb-pvr software. However I have a lot of avi (DIVX encode) that are widescreen. However when I play them they get zoomed to fullscreen (cutting of the sides). If I use the "Mediaportal" software it plays them just fine. Is there something I can change to get these widescreen movies to play widescreen because the gb-pvr software is so much faster than the "Mediaportal" software I really want to use it. Again any help is very much appreciated.

you can use "ffdshow" to maintain the aspect ratio of the file.

I installed ffdshow and selected it under playback in the configuration program where it says use ffdshow with transcode. It still stretches it though. Is there something else I can try or am I just missing something in the ffdshow configuration.

Never mind I did get it working. I had to check the resize box under ffdshow and then select fast bilinear for the resize option.
Thanks for the help.

I can't seem to find the version number anywhere but I do know I downloaded it from the sourceforge website. if you know where to find the version number I can get it for you and let you know. Are you having problems getting the aspect ratio right?

More the date. I've seen some people talking about 2005 dated ffdshow's

Are people getting the alpha, or the last stable (the last stable is dated some time is 2002) I don't know what version it is.

Look here

It looks like the last version of ffdshow is from 12-21-2005
What probably happened is that the programers quite using sourceforge maybe?
