Howdy

I have seen an awful lot of posts about this remote, so I just want to check the facts before I go much further.

Firstly, some of the functions work "straight out of the box" but not all (Up, Down, Left, Right) after I downloaded and installed the eHome driver (referenced in another thread, in http://forums.dvbowners.com/index.php?sh...2&hl=gbpvr ).

So, am I right in thinking that I need to download HiP and map the button presses to keyboard equivalents? Or should I map them to SendMessage commands? I am not really fussed at the moment about using an external device, so I am after a simple setup (with Teletext...)

Cheers

It depends which MCE2005 remote you have. When I have the remote type set to 'MCE remote' in the config app, pretty much everything except the green start button works fine. I havnt needed HIP or anything like that.

Yeah, thats the same remote I've got.

I did installed some drivers when I first got it, but I cant remember where exactly I got them. Once they're installed though, all you have to do is select the remote type as 'MCE Remote' and it should work with GB-PVR.

If you need to use the included IR Blaster, you'll need to look at HIP or Girder.

Hmmm

I'll have to look for some new drivers, then. I get very few functions working, and definately no Teletext.

Any ideas anyone?

i had to use hip and sendmessages to get it working. didnt really become perfect until i downloaded the 3rd party drivers for the remote and taught hip each button on the remote. Took a while but it allowed me to use the mce2005 blasters to control the volume on the TV instead of the PCs internal volume, which works a lot better.
the GBPVR config isnt set to mce remote, i left it on direct access cos if i had it set to 'mce remote' the basic up,down, enter etc would duplicate twice for each button press.
theres a link to the 3rd party driver on the downloads page of hip.

There a couple of things that can cause this to happen.

BTW, GB-PVR shows teletext when you press the 'red' button. I just ignore the 'teletext' button on the MCE remote, since the previous MCE remotes didnt have it, and the Hauppauge remotes dont have it.
