Tuner Card Hook-up

I'm planning on purchasing a Hauppauge PVR 150 tuner card and was wondering about the cable hookup. The computer I will install it on has a cable modem hooked up to it. I was wondering if I install a cable splitter to hook up both the cable modem and tuner card would that degrade the quality of either.

Yes, a splitter will degrade the signal strength a little, but it should be fine.
