From your other thread, I think your problems started when you installed Appearance Manager without installing The Collection. From this, I infer that your test skin is something new that you hope to have work with Appearance Manager. If this is the case, I'd be happy to help you out. But first you need to get your system running again.
Again be sure there are no dll's in you plugins directory.
Be sure that the mainmenu\skin.xml of the default skin "Blue" has not been edited to add any new elements, like panels. Using the config program, select "Blue" for both the PC and the MVPs, you need to select it in two places, I believe.
Get everything working with Blue.
