Hi!
Before I start complaining I wan't to thank sub for a great piece of software!
A little fiddly but that's the way I like it...
Since upgrading from 95.16 -> 96.08 ->96.12, I've had serious problems with the EPG. Read in another thread that sub had revised the EPG-scanning method to be faster and more efficient - which is far from the case on my system. I followed the instructions in the thread regarding increasing the scanning time to 180/240, but after more than 10 EPG-updates with a scanning time of 240 I still get only about 10% of the listings...
Don't know if this is a local problem (Finland), but as it looks now I'm either forced to revert to the 95.16-version in which the EPG worked perfectly - had about two weeks of programmes in the EPG - or then start fiddling around with xmltv-plugins. I'm not too tempted by this as it means adding yet another component to what used to be a orking system and also it seems there isn't any fully working xmltv-plugin for use in Finland...?
Sub: Any chance of reverting to the old EPG-update method? Or possibly incorporating both methods in the next release?
One more thing that in my opinion limits functionality in the newer versions is that pressing MENU when playing DVD's now takes you back to GBPVR in stead of the DVD menu. Some DVD's Iv'e tried don't seem to automatically take you to the menu when you start playback (or at least take a frustratingly long time to do so), and the new MENU-mapping gives you no way of directly accessing the DVD menu.. Or is there another mapping that I've missed?
(also, just noticed in v96.12 that video failed to initialize after listening to DVB-T radio and switching to Live-TV...minor bug )
Sorry about all the complaints, but I really enjoy the software and would hate to start looking for an alternative just due to the EPG problem!
