Newbie: Does Hauppauge remote work without ir32.exe running?

I have the remote coming with wintv pvr usb2 (45 keys). From what I understand GBpvr can control this without Hauppauges ir32.exe running, but this doesn't happen to me. I need to restart the ir32.exe for my remote to function. I remember once I ticked the option for "Use direct access to Hauppauge Remote", but now I have it unchecked. Since the ir32.exe keeps failing to initialize remote hardware this is a bit boring.

Any enlightment for me??

This option is only for PVR250 and PVR350 owners. You'll need to have IR32.exe running.
