Ah, ive been looking at images of the two cards and looking at the IR ports and they look the same so it might work not sure realli only way to find out is try

Would this be better to connect a sky box to my PVR150MCE or would a standard co-ax/aerial cable be better?

I don't think you'd get much joy from a coax cable, you surely want video to feed into the PVR150 rather than modulated UHF?

I don't have one, don't know what the card is capable of but in your case the tuner is the Sky box so all you're interested in is the video output from that box. If you take the output from the UHF then what has happened is that the video will be modulated then immediately demodulated again in the PVR150, you avoid that by taking the direct video out.
