Hello everyone, and I am new so bear with me.

I have GBPVR installed and I am attempting to view previously downloaded files through the Video Library. These are not recorded shows, just some avi files that I have had and play with no problem with other Media Players on the same computer. GBPVR sees the files fine but when I attempt to play one it appears the application locks for a few seconds, nothing plays, then GBPVR starts responding again.

Just for kicks I downloaded the My Videos plugin and this exhibits the same exact problem. I set that plugin to use an external player (Video LAN) which works with no problems.

I assume this has something to do with my Software decoder? Since I am using a Hauppauge 150 I have the one that comes with it and the System Default whatever the hell that is but both have the same issue.

Would love some suggestions because I really want to use this great software.

Thanks for everyones time and help in advance.

Its probably related to your decoder for this file type. Can you play the file with Windows Media player? VideoLan isnt a good check since it doesnt use Directshow.

Afaik, vlc uses it's own built in codecs. Do the files play in WMP, if not you could e.g. install ffdshow then you will be able to play almost everything.

edit: sub beat me :-)

You know I thought I had tried that but apparently not. I am an idiot. Downloaded Divx and everything is working like a champ now. Wife is smiling since we got rid of cable now I am using this.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Great sotware.

I have the same problem as describe in this post. I tried playing my avi in Windows Media Player and it did without a problem. I use to be able to play this files in GB-PVR before. I have no idea what went wrong. Also, my playback OSD stoped displaying for some reason.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thank You

It'll most likely be related to the combination of decoders on your machine. Reproduce the problem then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

This is usually related to using the Cyberlink decoder with VMR. This decoder is not compatible with VMR unless you add some Cyberlink registry setting.

THank You for the fast response.
Attached are the files.

I am using Overlay and Intervideo decoders.

Thanks,

What type of files are you playing when you notice the OSD is not appearing?

Problem Solved! Reinstalled GB-PVR and most issues solved.
FYI, The OSD was missing for all file types, including TV recordings.
The problem (I think) with Video playback was that the "RESUME"/"RESTART" OSD was not being displayed. Reason why the video would lock up in the same frame everytime.

An issue or anoyance that still happens is long wait times between pressing "Stop" and Video actually stopping. It takes 30 secs to a minute for the actual video to stop playing.

Thank You for the help.
