My TV recordings are recorded as .dvr-ms format. Is it my hauppauge HVR1300 hard decoder that is setting this, or is it a configurable option in GBPVR?

I think it is determined by the driver. DVR-MS is almost exactly MPG format but with some characteristics (and extension) changed. The HVR's driver is suited for Win MCE, which prefers DVR-MS, I think, but I am no expert.

There is an option in the config.exe to automatically convert DVR-MS to MPG.

With digital card, the mux filter used decides the file type. If it uses the Microsoft DVR-MS mux, then you'll end up with a .dvr-ms file. If you download and install the Cyberlink mux, you'll also be able to record to .mpg files.

OK, I installed Cyberlink PDVD and selected 'cyberlink' as the BDA Multiplexer on the misc tab in config - but I'm still getting recordings in dvr-ms format. I'd really like to record to mpeg - what am I missing?????

You probably don't have the Cyberlink mux installed. Run BDA mux checker to see if you have it. I dpnt think that mux is inlcuded in the Power DVD installation.

Get Hybrid DVB-T/Analog zipped driver from http://www.twinhan.com/download_driver&software.asp

Extract (not install) THMpgMux.ax in a preferred directory (eg. ...\devnz\gbpvr)

Click Start then Run program
Type: Regsvr32 "<directory where you extracted the muxer>\THMpgMux.ax" hit return

Now you have Cyberlink muxer registered and working. Wink
