Video Playback not realy smooth

Hello all!

I have some mpeg2 video streams with a high bitrate and they can not be played smoothly. It does not make fun to look them, is that a limitation of the Hauppauge decoder? the CPU utilization is less then 10% so the CPU seems to be fast enough.

Any ideas?

Try changing the preferred decoder. GB-PVR doesn't actaully do any of the playback itself. Instead, it just hands that task to other components you have installed on you machine. The MPEG decoder has the biggest impact on how good playback looks.

As a side note to this, when I'm doing recording, the picture quality is 100% fine as far as I'm concerned, however sometimes the audio goes a bit strange, it tends to distort slightly when the audio goes kinda bassy. I've kinda suspected up till now that it might be the aerial I'm using, its not an external on the side of the house one, so I am guessing it might not be getting a quite good enough signal, could there be anything else that could be causing the problem?

I'm using a pvr350 btw.
