I was able to get it to work using the basic gb-pvr url from my IE browser outside my network (at work). I just mapped port 80 on my router (Linksys) to my gb-pvr port and it works.

Prior to this, I had this server only open on my network and not networked to the internet. I do have antivirus and firewall software on it and my firewall setting on the router are locked down pretty good. any othere suggestions?

I was wondering whether forwarding 80 might not screw up your internet access from home if you have more than one pc. i.e. incoming http traffic for the non-pvr machine might be sent to the pvr machine.

It might be better to pick an unused port > 50000, forwarding this to the gbpvr machine and configuring the webadmin to use this port in config.exe.

just my $0.02 tho, I may well be completely wrong here!

your solution will be OK, some people like to use a different port because 80 is generic http, thus will get scanned more often by bad people or you ISP. Some ISP don't like you to run servers. But incoming connections will not get confused with requests by the server
