Anyway, I'm now running 97.13 and it's not connecting (Contacting DHCP ... message). The device just sits there quietly mocking me  .

I got this occasionally with my MVP devices when gbpvr is not able to load the dongle. I solve it by restart the Hauppage MVP software then stop it afterward. I set the two hauppage services to manual so I can load the dongle when I need to.

I actually had a chance to have a close look at a couple of setups where the MVP was not able to load the dongle. In the next release, the built-in TFTP server will now be more reliable on networks that loose a lot of UDP packets, which was the cause of this problem.

Thanks so much jksmurf. Smile I've managed to download all your dongles and I'll report back results when I finish testing them.

Sounds good, looking forward to that - thanks Sub.

Well after the better part of 2 nites of testing about 10 different dongles with no luck at all I decided to go back to basic troubleshooting. Long story short: I have a bad connection on my ethernet cable (as in works perfect - move cable slightly - doesn't work at all). Once I solved that mystery I tried the default dongle.bin with no luck (stuck at loading application message...)
but then the dongle-3.0.24088.bin seems to be working for me finally. Although it is a little quirky sometimes it IS working again!!!

Thanks for all your help guys ...sorry about the bit of a wild goose chase...

Good stuff, glad you got it going thanks for the feedback. Added you to the list in
http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...stcount=44

IIRC mine is also 30_24088 on a D3A.
