I am trying to use 4 tuners (2 mce500 cards). Everything works great except that I can olny get 2 tuners(on the same card) to work acceptably. The other two will tune but the video is terriable, audio is fine. I have narrowed the problem down to two possiable problems; either I have a bad slot or the fact that my system employs an integrated video card. I brain dead sup person at Dell suggested that I could not make this work because of the video card. Everyone I asked in the forum thought that that should not matter. Any thoughts? If the slot was bad would it not just not work or can only part of it fail? Any help would help. I am on the verge of buying another comp and creating a networked system....I really don't want to do that when this SHOULD work....thanks!

Could it be bad reception? Each time you split the cable or antenna you lose quite a bit of signal strength. In addition to any splitters you've added, the PVR500's also internally split the signal to each tuner.

Can you post a screenshot?

I have an amp in place so reception shouldnt be the problem. I have tested both lines on both cards and the same card works. I will post a screenshot tomorrow.

Thanks!

I'm using an ATI R200 motherboard with onboard video and have 2 x PVR500mce's in the only 2 pci slots and my pictures fine. Seem's odd that one card would always work with either cable cause it sounds like classic reception issues - If you swap the slots does the fault stay with the slot? Perhaps play with the Plug&Play resource settings in the bios - turn off any unessessary resources, a lot of onboard sound have MPU settings and things that can chew up IRQ's causing more sharing - see if you can tell what that pci slot is sharing an IRQ with - I don't know but I imagine it could be a resource sharing issue?
