I'm not sure if this is directly a GBPVR problem, or a larger Windows issue, so I thought I'd start by asking here.

I can only play two or three recorded shows. On opening the next show, Windows freezes; only a cold reset gets me up and running again. It doesn't seem to matter which recordings I watch - no particular show causes the crash, and when I've rebooted, the one that crashed plays fine. There's no magic number for the number of recordings I can watch before this happens.

Nothing appears in Windows' event logs to indicate what's going on.

Could this be a broken or conflicting codec?

Any help is appreciated.

If windows is freezing, its usually a sign of something more serious than a codec problem, and its usually difficult to track down. If its not some easily reproducable event, like every time you use a capture device then its most likely some sort of general system instability. Heat, memory problems, power supply, video card drivers?

Time to go hardware troubleshooting, it seems. Terrific...

Thanks.

This is of course assuming you're not using the tv out on a PVR350? This is known to cause this problem.

Fixed. This turned out to be a problem with the free DivX player that was installed with the K-lite Mega Codec Pack. Uninstalling the player took care of it. I'm not 100% sure of the mechanics behind it yet (I'm still researching), but that was it.

Thanks.
