I'm using a FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual Digital tuner in the UK with the latest 0.98 build of GBPVR. I've tried running OS builds of MCE2005 and XP Pro SP2, but the following problem occurs in both:

I install GBPVR and then set up the first tuner (eg.the pci part of the dual tuner card.) I can scan for channels fine with this first tuner.

I then try to add the USB part of the dual tuner as a second tuner. As for the first, pci part of the tuner, I setup channel listings for the usb tuner, but when I try to scan for channels with the usb tuner, I get:

"GB-PVR was unable to start the device you configured... Reason: failed to locate configured BDA capture device."

Now the weird thing is that if I start over with a fresh install of GBPVR and setup the USB part of the dual tuner card first, the USB tuner works! But then the pci card doesn't work as a 2nd tuner!

Each time I set up a tuner, I ensure it's numbered 1 or 2 in the setup. I've used GraphEdit, and the tuner names appear to be correct in bda.ini. The dual tuners work fine in Dvico's own TV app and also perfectly in Media Center in MCE2005.

I'm really keen to get GBPVR working with both pci and usb parts of the dual tuner card, so I'm grateful for any help you can offer. Please find logs attached from an initial install of GBPVR and from tuning attempts with first the pci tuner (successfully,) then the usb tuner (unsuccessfully.)

Do the names show up twice in GraphEdit? They'd need to so that GB-PVR could treat them as device #1 and device #2. Or do they use different names for the USB and PCI parts?

Thanks for your quick reply.

The names show up once each in GraphEdit:

Bluebird, BDA Tuner
FusionHDTV, BDA Tuner

Thanks in advance for your help.

I cant picture what this weird beast of a device looks like that has PCI and USB at the same time, but from your filter description it sounds like you need to have one capture source set up as a "Dvico Fusion Dual PCI part" with the device number set to #1, and a second capture source set up as a "Dvico Fusion DVB-T Dual USB part" also set up as device #1.

Your logs show you'd set up two capture sources, both as "Dvico Fusion DVB-T Dual USB part". One as device #1, the other as device #2.

Many thanks for the info Sub. By setting both the pci and usb parts as device #1, I can scan channels for both tuners.

For your information, this pci card plugs into a pci slot, but has a female usb out socket on the end that is connected, via a cable, to any female USB slot on the PC. In other words, one aerial lead connects to the card, which in turn supplies a signal to the components for a pci tuner and a usb tuner that are all on the one card.
