I thought this was skin related, but I finally got a log of the exception.

All seems fine with 9808b, except playing a recording causes a fatal exception dialog. just moving the dialog aside, all continues to work fine.

I finally got a log of it, and this seems to be the issue:

The backend.common DLL file is in place. It is version 1.0.2445.14608.

I searched to see if this was mentioned earlier but I only found a a post about having moved the file.

It seems that I can just drag the dialog off-screen but that doesn't seem ideal. I've got enough recordings in 098 now that I don't wish to go back to 96.12, so I'd like to fix this in place if I can.

Running the 098 installer to repair doesn't fix it.

How have people been doing upgrading from 96.12 to 098? I can get a bse install going OK but as soon as I add plugins (098 ready plugins) problems start to come up. This might hvae started happening after the weather plugin install. But the weather pluging works and uninstalling/reinstalling makes no positive change.

Should I just do a clean install of 098 and import (via the config program option to import recordings ) the recordings-dump.xml? (Is that all I'd need to do, other than reconfig capture devices etc?)

Thanks for assistence. Other, and full, logs attached.

You need to update or remove the version of the My Videos Plugin you have installed. The version you're using isnt compatible with the .NET 2.0 releases of GB-PVR.

OK, thanks. I don't recall installing that separately in the past. I'll check the wiki plugin page for a newer version then.

You did install it. It doesnt come with GB-PVR. If you dont need it, then the easiest fix to delete its DLL from the plugins directory.
