has anyone else had this problem? every once in a while, maybe 20 minutes, there's a hiccup, my computer's IDE activity light gets bright, and gbpvr freezes for about 10 sec while the computer is working. i don't know if this is a gbpvr thing or what. does anyone know if there's some sort of way to see what process is performing ide activity, or if there's just a way to fix the problem?

I have seen this, usually when I change channels. I will bring up the guide, select a channel to watch, the video behind the OSD changes to the new channel, but the OSD stays on the screen for about 10-20 seconds while the HD light goes crazy. It doesn't crash the program or anything, just delays to remove the OSD so I just ignore it. Theres nothing in the logs that suggest what it is doing either, just a time gap from when the channel is changed to when I can adjust the volume.

Yes, but this is during any kind of playback, not just changing channel.

I get this problem too. It happens when listening to music through GBPVR - both Music Library and ML2 - as well as while watching a video/Recording.

It's like some process takes hold of the machine and rattles the hard disk for 5 seconds or so so nothing else can run. It's very annoying and only happens when GBPVR is running, so I'm reasonably convinced it's not some external process - I've turned of all the FastFind and indexing stuff anyway.

Bright ideas/solutions would be helpful - I've tried everything obvious...

System: XP Pro on 1.86MHz Pentium M on an AOpen i915GMm-HFS board with 1GB RAM.

Have a look in the logs (GBPVR.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log) at the time the activity of occurred and see what messages you can see.
