Letterbox bars purple instead of black

I know I have seen this type of issue before... perhaps its related to having a color selected or not selected in your WMP options Background color??

Its kinda of hard to find.. but this MS article should help you... perhaps that will help??

Okay, I finally got around to trying this, and no effect. It's still showing purple. Any other ideas?

My bad for not posting sooner , but It did not change it either for me. The nice shade of purple is starting to grow on me :p

Heh. Yeah, I can mostly tune it out, but sometimes it drives me nuts. The particular hue varies, too. Sometimes it's darker, and could almost pass as black, but then other times it's more like something you'd see inside Willy Wonka's factory.
