I have loaded the app on a newly built Windows 2000 system. I have installed the major packages according to the installation pages: .NET 2.0, DirectX 9, the drivers for my tv tuner card (ATI TV Wonder Pro).

I scanned the forums, and have made the connection string changes in the xml file, deleted gbpvr.db3 and replaced it with empty.db3, and loaded .NET 1.1. I am not able to get the config program working at all. When I start the config program, there are no defaults (like the default skin), it will not detect my tuner card and virtually every button I click yields the following:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I read about a log but this really the only thing I could find that seemed useful:

Yes, this occurred to me just after I posted this thread. I loaded Media Player 9, and then everything began to function.

FYI this information is not in the quick start, or installation instructions (under prerequisites). This seems like a pretty silly thing for me to miss, so I am only suggesting it in the case where someone starts with a fresh install as I have.

My AVI TV Wonder Pro does not seem to be natively supported, and so I am going to try and get the software encoder working (had errors last night) - but that will be in another post. Smile

I appreciate your reply.
