Ewa -intermittant function, and not accessable from internet when autologin enabled

Guys-- First off nice job. I just upgrade last night to new GBPVR w/ build 48 of the EWA. You have done a great job of adding feature, and making it very user friendly.

I am having a slight issue with it. It appears to only function intermittantly. Futhermore, I can not login from the internet (I have opened up the port 7647-8) only when the autologin only is resticted to the local area network. If I enable the autologin for the entire internet, it works from outside. It appears that others have had this issue in the 150 page thread located elsewhere, and managed to get it fixed w/o a clear answer when.

I would really like it to be password protected.

I have port forwarded correctly, and I am able to get to that PC from the web w/ VNC, and foldershare w/o issue.

The intermittant nature of the EWA also occurs when attempting to access the site from the LAN.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ok....you sound like you have two issues:

• it appears to only function intermittantly.
  
• I can not login from the internet

What does intermittantly mean? What does it do when it isn't working.

As for the access from Internet. Read this thread and let me know if it helps. I think a key is the clone of the MAC.

I think I determined what the issue was. The location where I tried logging in from (work) had a squid proxy server. It appears for some reason, when I circumvented the proxy server and tried to connect from elsewhere, it worked flawlessly.

Thanks UncleJohnsBand for your assistance earlier, but it appears that my router and firewall settings were correct. I am sure that this is still the most common problem for most users.

The only way I could work around the issue with the proxy server was to allow access w/o a password. (Use "0.0.0.0/1,128.0.0.0/1" in the automatic login section of the config page). Definately was not a perfect situation.

Anyone else having this happen (not being able to connect to EWA through a proxy at work, but able to connect from the rest of internet or local area network)?
