Greetings,
Been a Gbpvr user for a while now. Recently (read: yesterday) bought a new sound card to fully utilize the home surround system I have as I have a dedicated HTPC.
Did a complete reinstall, everything fresh on the box today. I was previously using all the most recent drivers, and I am now as well. specs as follows:
Windows 2k updated with SP4 and all critical fixes, DX9.0c (or whatever etc etc)
Amd Athalon XP 2.? gig
1 gig ram
ATI x1300 512mb onboard ram
Turtle Beach Montego DDL sound card
soyo KT-600 ultra dragon platinum MB
3 Hard drives: 2 on IDE cable, one slave SATA drive
all most current drivers and the latest (99.5) Gbpvr
now I'm having an issue where exactly on the half hour/hour livetv will complete freeze the computer. no ctrl+alt+del, no esc, no nothing. I'm no expert, I'm not even that bright, but it seems to me it's freezing when it tries to create a new file for Livetv.
Does anyone have any ideas? Anything I can do to further troubleshoot and pinpoint the problem? any questions I can answer to obtain aid?
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

well, in continued testing: I use dedicated partitions for my recordings and for my livetv buffer. I changed the livetv buffer to a different partition, and it just cruised through the last hour change without hitch. I shall continue testing and keep posting. however, if anyone has any input, I'd be happy to discuss it.
*edit 2*
well, after continued testing, it seems I may have had a bad sector on the partition that I was using for my livetv buffer. why I hadn't encountered it before this time after months of using it, I am unsure, but....
I hope that perhaps this information may help someone else, as I am lucky that I may have figured it out without making to many people scratch their heads. At the very least, I'm happy that it didn't lead to frantic attempts to see if there was a code problem.
BTW
I love gbpvr, would like to take this opportunity to thank Sub for his fine work.
