Volume control while playing music

Is there a technical reason the volume control doesn't work when playing music, or is it just a configuration issue?

What do you have the volume control setting set to on the playback tab of the config app?

None, Local and master.

I don't think there is any control when playing from the Music Library (maybe the Video Lib as well). I have the same remote.
