Perhaps if someone can provide a full explanation of exactly what happens in GBPVR when a show title is set to be 'Record Season (All episodes on this channel)' all the way through to the individual show titles being deleted.
Currently if you're a zap2it user and you have the 'dont record duplicates' option set, then it'll only schedule the recording of an episode if no other 'ready' or 'pending' recording exists with the same show identifier. This unique show identifier is supplied by zap2it, and available for about 99% of shows.

This schemes works well for users that tend to leave series of shows on their hard disk, or for weeding out extra duplicate shows of that might be rescreened in the same week etc, but not as well for users that 'watch and delete'.

I am considering changing the logic to store this list of shows identifiers in a database table, not purged when you delete a recording, probably automatically deleting the identifier automatically 40 days after the user deletes the recording (tweakable in config.xml). I dont think its worth making this list permanently keep these show identifiers - this will likely confuse users who wonder why shows arent recording.

I think that would be a great idea sub. I know I would find this very useful.

I love this idea...I have a lot of shows scheduled for the Record Season option, but with most of them, I tend to record, watch, then delete within a day or two. The problem I run into (and this unfortunately has happened to me twice) is that my hard drive will be running low on free space for one reason or another and I'll go out of town for a weekend. While I'm out of town, some channel will schedule an all-day marathon of a show I record, and my hard drive ends up filled to capacity with shows I've already seen. And of course as a result of this, the shows I had scheduled to record on other channels fail due to lack of space and I miss shows I haven't seen yet.

I know I definitely need to get an additional hard drive for storage, but until I can afford that option, the change mentioned above would end a lot of frustration for me.

Thanks sub, that would seem to correct this issue.

I'm truly still unclear about the interaction between GBPVR, the database and setting up a show title to Record Season (All episodes on this channel) and what happens when you subsequently watch and then delete that show.

The reason I asked is I had actually considered, rather than deleting a show from my couch with GBPVR on the MVP, instead I'd delete the show files from my computer but leave a dummy file name in it's place in a 'Watched Folder' so that when GBPVR sweeps the root recorded shows directory to purge and rebuild the database of those deleted shows, the dummy file would trick GBPVR into thinking it was still there and inhibit the repeat recording of that same show.
