Over the past couple of weeks, recordings made with my PVR350 are blocking/pixellating, stuttering. It's annoying as it is the primary analogue tuner in my system so gets the majority of recordings scheduled against it. (I'm about to move it to last place to lessen the problems though). It seems to be mostly video - the picture might freeze for a second but the audio carries on. There might be a brief bit of pixellation but, again, the audio isn't affected. Occasionally, the video AND audio will skip a fraction of a second etc.

For the life of me I can't think of any changes I've made recently which might cause this.

I'm pretty certain it's not the signal as recordings on my PVR500 tuners don't show the same thing. I'm pretty certain it's at the recording stage as playback in WMP shows the same problems - besides, I'd expect to see recordings from my other tuners showing the same thing, as they'd be using the same playback filters.

I know it's a long shot but does anyone have any ideas of where I should be looking?

I know I could install WinTV to see if the same thing happens but the PVR350 used to work fine with GB-PVR and I can't think of what's happened to change that.

Cheers,
Brian

Installing WinTV was pretty much my first thought.

Its not overheating?

Not sure - I did think about that. The Intel monitor software shows the machine, in general, is running about normal temp. although that obviously doesn't monitor the whole of the inside of the box.

At the moment it's about 20 degC in the room - I was wondering if having the central heating on a lot of the time was affecting things but last summer, the temp. regularly went to 35-40 degC without adverse effect.

I might try an HCWCLEAR etc.....

Brian

I did a bit of a cleanup of the system, although, not very much really. The only significant thing I did was to uninstall trial versions of the Elecard MPEG Player and the Elecard codec pack (both of which had 'timed out').

Since then, recordings on the 350 have been fine - I don't understand why that would have caused problems though. Even more confused as to why recordings on the PVR500 didn't seem to have problems.

Oh well, I'll stop thinking about this one and just be happy things are working fine again.

Cheers,
Brian
