I have installed and had GBPVR working once... I just put Vista in and it was working great until I rebooted... now everytime I reboot it re-installs ...

It tells me it can't find "any channels" even after I set everything up in the config.

It will load but I can't get anything on the TV Guide. It tells me to setup up the EPG information [which I've set up 4 times already], I've uninstalled, deleted done everything I can think of but no go.

Anyone else having Vista problems?

There is one thing that has caused this for a few vista users. It relates to the way Windows tries to protect files in the "c:\program files" directory. GB-PVR tries to work around it, but there must be some sequence of events in which this fails.

What happens is Windows see the user trying to update the GB-PVR database (inserting channels into gbpvr.db3) in this protected directory, and redirects updates to a virtual mirror copy of the file.

Long story short, you'll probably be able to correct it by deleting the mirror gbpvr.db3 file from the '<user>\MyDocuments\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramFiles\devnz' directory.

When you run the config app, it should prompt you to run the app as administrator. If it doesnt you may need to manually do it by right clicking on config.exe and select the 'run as administrator' option. If it doesnt run as administrator, then it'll end up creating this mirrored database copy again - and you dont want that.

Great info!!! Thanks I will give that a try today after work. Currently I have it un-installed but Thanks to your ideas I'll try putting it back in again and giving it another try. New opertating systems=new problems :-).

If you right click and open properties, then select the Compatibility tab, you will see there is a Privilege Level option to 'Run this program as an administrator'. If you check that you don't have to remember to select 'run as administrator' each time.
