(GBPVR at computer using Vista).
When running up and down TV channels using the OSD TV1 won't display (but name and prog synopsis are correct). The display is the last channel visited. The capture sources are correct in config. I thought this might be a weak signal problem but it records programs from TV1 OK.

While looking at this I found I can't play a program currently being recorded (log shows errors at around 9:23pm). Sometimes it just shows a black window and other times it says there is an 'error: playing back file' message.
C2Duo E8400, 4GB, GE8600GT, PCH A-100, HVR2200, NPVR 1.5.31, Win 7 x64.

Is there a question in there?

Try running the ReRegisterFilters.bat file. On Vista you may need to run this as Administrator - not really sure.

The implied question was why no TV1 in LiveTV given that the freq could be found for recording?

I re-registered the filters as me then as admin and each one said it was successful but it still doesn't work and the same error is present in the log.

I'm not in front of my PC to check at the moment, but was GBPVRParser.ax one of those listed in ReRegisterFilters.bat?

Basically you need to get that filter registered. If its registering but still showing as 'not found', then I'm guessing its something to do with Vista's VirtualStore protection getting in the way (ie, redirecting registry updates to protect existing settings). I'm dont really have any advice for you on getting around that - I'm still not using Vista here, so not really familiar how you'd work around this type of problem.

This is usually a sign the channel number listed in the capture source next to that channel is outside of the range allowable for that country/tuning combination. For example, NZ/Antenna has the range 2-11, and if you were on channel 3 then switched to channel 1, then it would stay showing channel 3 (since 1 is outside the valid range).

I couldnt find where this was in your logs to check.

Thanks, sub. Looks like we have yet another Vista mystery. This same combo works fine under XP but not Vista. My TV1 is in MHz not ch numbers.

Yes, GBPVRParser is there and it says it registered successfully so that is really weird.

I really have to say that Vista is NOT ready for the real world. In fact it is a real pain in the arse. Many things work but you are always waiting to be hijacked. If you really have heaps of time on your hands, try getting all your old and comfortable apps working with it. Maybe I should off-line it for a year and try again! Only problem is it will come with all new machines so it is hard to avoid and ignore.

Its possible Microsoft changed something.

Yeah - this vista virtualstore think alone should cause all sorts of problems. Its a pain in the butt.

I have vista, but its not on a machine. Once its one there I'll be better able to answer vista questions.
