JonnyCam Wrote:Is this something which only happens on 2nd and subsequent recordings after a restart?
Yes, I believe so. It works very well on initial restart. Flawlessly in fact.

JonnyCam Wrote:I have the same kind of issue where the USBUIRT will not work with live TV after I have had a recording complete.
Hmm. Well my tests are with LiveTV, but as I missed some recordings due to non-changes when recording without LiveTV, it seemd to be for all types of recording/viewing.

JonnyCam Wrote:I thought it may have been to linked to GBPVR holding onto the UIRT after first use to allow for speedier changes in the future, and there is something in the config.xml for "recycleUSBUIRT" (SUb confirmed that it keeps hold of the UIRT) to stop this - but I still don't think this solved my live TV problem.
Hmm.. that's the problem with a completely clean reinstall ... I'd forgotten about that recycle ubsuirt option. Must see what mine is set at (Should be default).

JonnyCam Wrote:Also, Live TV after recordings takes ages to start, no UBSUIRT response, and very stuttery when it finally loads
Yes, that is EXACTLY what I (and my wife, to whom it occurs more often :-) ) sees.

k.

[EDIT]There are 4 previous posts for recycleusbuirt, but this one caught my eye, as I do not use ENTER, do not need to. I wonder if the fix sub made was only for it not pressing ENTER?

[EDIT2]sub, previously you wrote "it only relates to a problem with the USB-UIRT, which is what we've been discussing in this thread". Does this mean you believe it is a problem with the USBUIRT device? i.e. should I chase the USBUIRT developer?

Well I tried

Quote:<RecycleUSBUIRT>true</RecycleUSBUIRT>
as per this thread.

A friend left the MVP on all night on LiveTV and when I came to run GBPVR on the PC this am I got 100% CPU, no ability to change channel and a lockup. This is similar behaviour to what I see running the MVP normally and switching it off.

Not much in the logs (that I <no expert> can see), but I'd really like to get to the bottom of this. I've only just recently reinstalled WinXP + GBPVR etc etc :-(

I do notice the NVIDIA Purvideo Icon comes on and seems to take a bit of time to do so. Is there any merit trying a different decoder?

Just wanted to say this "appears" to be a Nvidia PureVideo Codec issue, specifically with audio. I changed the codec in Config for AUDIO only to the only other one in my system, Nero, and the channel change AND subsequent stutter issue both appear to have gone away.

I still use Purevideo for Video, but with Audo set to system default ot Nvidia Audio Codec, the above behaviour occured. I don't know why, maybe csy knows, but it's solution that works for me it seems.

I'd like to report the behaviour is not fixed with a change of Audio Codec  and I still get 100% CPU and channel change issues after first use of GBPVR esp. after leaving MVP turned on overnight. Restart Recording Service fixes it. Something causes this, I just don't know what.

If you're using EWA, does disabling it help?

Ok apparently i have this EXACT same problem.
Maybe my logs can help since i use diffrent decoders or config?
This is a sample where i did something but i cant remember. Was randomly trying stuff.
Symptoms are not changing channels obviously. The receiver blinks red, but the output emitter attached to settop box doesnt send out anything.
Also included is a set of fresh restart logs. Where i do a up,down. And a few channel changes to see normal operation.

I can try a few specific things next time it happens and include those logs.

Trying to figure out what this is still. My best guess is that the recording service steals it from gbpvr live? and holds it?
Restarting the recording service seems to fix it SOMETIMES... not all the time i dont think.

Ok definately fixxes itself with a recordings restart MOST of the time.
Im beginning to think that the recording service is "holding" control changing option like it does during a recording to make sure you accidently dont change channels and forgetting to let go. But i cant find anything in the logs.
