Hello,

I'm looking to replace the original software for my HVR-4000 card (PowerCinema), mainly for DVB-S2 transponders (HDTV channels).

I've looked for a couple of hours but I didn't find out what I'm looking for; is it possible to tune on DVB-S2 transponders? What are the main steps to be followed?

BR,

No, not currently. Unfortunately I dont have DVB-S2 in my part of the world, so its not an easy thing for me to add.

Thank you.
Seems that adding DVB-S2 support it’s not a easy thing to do.

I know what I need to do for it, but I had no easy way to test it, so it wasnt something I wanted to tackle at this stage.

Is there any changes in DVB-S2 support? I am considering buying one more DVB-S card an addition to my Hauppauge HVR-3000. DVB-S2 support would be great. Does Gb-Pvr still not support DVB-S2 with a HVR-4000 card?

SUB,
Thanks for the reply. Can you please quick explain how HDTV is supported?
Is HDTV only supported via DVB-T or do I just need another capture card for DVB-S?

It support (US style) high-def MPEG2 over ATSC or QAM devices.

It supports high-def MPEG2 over any supported DVB device (DVB-S/DVB-T/DVB-C). For example Australia broadcasts high def MPEG2 over DVB-T.

It supports high-def MPEG4/H.264 over any supported DVB device (DVB-S/DVB-T/DVB-C). For example New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, BBC all broadcast high def MPEG4 over DVB-T. There is also some satellite services in Europe that have broadcast MPEG4/H.264 over DVB-S.

hi
Is there any change in HDTV support for HVR-4000
First, I have setup GB-PRV with win 7 and HVR-4000, but it cant find any HDTV channels in denmark.
Second, it finds some SD channals with several audio tracks eg. "Hallmark CE (Audio #2) (Audio #2)" but i can't hear any difference in audio?
Hope some one can help.

Yes, it should now do DVB-S2 on an HVR-4000.

Are these DVB-S2 channels - if so, you'll probably need to read: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=44962 (which relates to the HVR-4000 needing some additional rolloff/pilot info)

Or are they DVB-T or DVB-C channels? If so, there so more questions I'd need to ask.
