Well, the codec pack totally destroyed my ability to replay anything already recorded... mpeg2 filters began to refuse to connect to the video renderer. I had to restore a system snapshop from before I installed anything. At least older things play again now. The newly compressed stuff just doesn't... Have to see about fixing that.

Hi again-

An update on my successful attempts to fix the screwy transcodes-

1) Using the 4CC changer to update the codec identified in the .avis from "xvid" to "XVID" brought back the picture where it was missing.

2) Demuxing (with Vdubmod) and remuxing (with avimux) the sound fixed the 60x fast forward effect.

So, beware of the standard ffmpeg.exe packaged with WinFF, it doesn't mux right as far as GBPVR's player is concerned, and that -vtag XVID argument is absolutely essential.

Lessons learned.

And that's why I use the ffmpeg that comes with GBPVR and the default strings from the config.xml as a starting point for ZProcess.
