I have 2 NIC's in my GBPVR server.

Is there a way to tell GBPVR which NIC to bind to when listening for the MVP??

Thanks,
Dan

So is GBPVR supposed to listen to both NICs?
(The Hauppauge software loads fine over the 2nd NIC, but I can't get GBPVR).

Right now, I have the two nics as:
192.168.1.5 (via DHCP from router)
192.168.0.5 (manual)

Would it solve the problem if I put them both on the same subnet?

Thanks,

Thats the theory, but I've only got one NIC in my machine, so thats all I've ever tested.

May I ask why you have two NIC's? The usual reason is so you can isolate two networks onto different subnets with different cable setups.

Currently, your DHCP server will be supplying a 192.168.1.x no. to your MVP so the 0.x NIC can't communicate with it. Setting this to 1.x will allow it to 'see' the MVP but you now need only one NIC! A bit confusing.
C2Duo E8400, 4GB, GE8600GT, PCH A-100, HVR2200, NPVR 1.5.31, Win 7 x64.

I have 2 NICs on the motherboard...and since I've been having problems getting the MVP to boot, I thought I'd eliminate a variable and remove the router from the equation. (I used to use just one of the onboard NICs).

I am running TFTP32d as the DHCPd on the win32 server, with the DHCP server bound just to the 192.168.0.1 NIC to provide the MVP with a 192.168.0.x IP.

I was purposely trying to isolate the MVP side of things for debug.

My server is connected to the MVP via a pair of Netgear HDX101 powerline routers. These routers connect at 50mbps sustained, and load the Hauppauge software fine, but I can't get GBPVR to load right now.

I wanted to make sure that there wasn't some weird interaction between the WRT54GL router and the Netgear powerline routers, so that's the long-winded reason behind the bifurcation of the network.

Just to answer my own Question on this, I took the suggestion of someone else on this forum (unrelated to my problem) and enabled Internet Connection Sharing on my main NIC.

Essentially, this allowed Windows to control the other NIC and enabled a windows DHCP server on the 2nd NIC. Windows must do something with the internal routing tables. Who knows.

Everything is working great now.

Shwing!
