Ted the Penguin Wrote:hmm, I will say I am stumped, because if the keyboard does the right thing, but the remote does the wrong thing, then it is the remote that is faulty, but I have no idea why.

you did try using the remote, then the keyboard, then the remote, and made sure that the keyboard always produce the intended action, while the remote was messing up?

Yup, pressing the green button is like pressing ctrl-g twice really quickly, i.e it flashes to the Playlist but immediately flicks back to the Library view.

But I'll try this again to see if behaviour is consistent between remote & keyboard and in case it reveals anything useful about the problem. BTW I've also posted this in Support, as I think it's more likely a remote "translation" problem than a ML2 one. ML2 is great!

I had a similar problem with my PVR150 remote. It was corrected by setting

<UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>false</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>

in the config.xml file. When this was set to true the colored buttons would not function correctly. I don't know if this will work for PVR150MCE remote, but it worked for my PVR150 remote.

With the remote buttons now working correctly I can now control all my music while kicked back in my recliner. Many thanks to psycik for the great plugin.

Well, I checked it all out over the weekend. It seems that the PVR150MCE remote (and ir.exe software) does indeed send two presses for some buttons; I think for "mapped" buttons it sends both the scan code AND the keyboard equivalent. This appears to be by design though I'm not quite sure why. Anyway, using the keyboard always works properly.

By hacking around with irremote.ini (e.g. commenting out the button mappings under [MSMCERCV], and/or the button commands under [GBPVR]) I did manage to get it to work (almost) properly in ML2. But then it didn't work properly in other GBPVR plugins (e.g. Video Library) - I either got two keypresses (so Skip, for example, would forward 120 seconds instead of 60), or no presses at all.

So there does seem to be some inconsistency in the Hauppauge MCE mapping, and how these are interpreted. Also I found it impossible to map "special" buttons like the MCE or Power buttons - they seem to send a different code from the "mappable" buttons.

Anyway, after a fairly long and fruitless time of wonder with IR.EXE and irremote.ini, I installed HIP (with the replacement MCE drivers), removed all default HIP button mappings for the MCE remote and re-added them with the correct GBPVR keyboard codes (as per the wiki manual), and removed IR.EXE from startup.

It all works like a charm now including being able to map the special buttons so I've got the Power button to start and stop GBPVR, the MCE button to toggle the aspect ratio (very useful), the Mute button to act like Pause, and the MY TV button to toggle between full-screen and windowed mode.

Thanks for the help with this. And thanks to the author of the HIP guide for GBPVR on the wiki.
