Some of my recordings play back jerky in GBPVR but play fine in WMP. I tried playing the videos in Dell Media Experience and I get the same jerkiness. I only have one video renderer listed (Intervideo). This is with the renderer set to VMR9 Custom. When I set to Overlay I get less jerkiness but the color is not as good and the sound isn't lined up (off by about 200ms). This is relatively new and happened right before I upgraded. Must have been something else I installed (codec / video drivers?). Anything I can do?

Again, the play fine in WMP. It tries to download a codec but fails and plays fine.

Hrm, another question - these seem to be encoded with Ligos Indeo which is not a free codec $14.95 if I want these to play effectively - how can I change this?

I'm not really sure what you mean. Didnt you say these were recordings? If so, then they're most likely just MPEG-2 files, and playable with any MPEG-2 decoder. Or have you later encoded these recordings with some third party encoder?

I've just used this codec in a lowly laptop and I can recommend it for resonable playback - 1.2ghz celeron.

Great thanks!

The jerkiness problem is actually with the recordings that GBPVR makes - once a show is recorded, it plays fine in WMP (tho not full screen because of codec issues) but with no jerkiness. Played in GBPVR under VMR9 Custom I get jerky picture. Under Overlay I get not quite as good picture and the sound is slightly off (tho I switched audio renderers and this seems better).

The jerky playback you describe could be the quartz.dll problem discussed within this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=5600

I have an on board geforce 6150 and have always had jerky problems with VMR9. I use overlay, the poor picture you have can be corrected by changing the overlay colour settings in the control panel. These are different settings to the normal colour settings which change the desktop colours.

I do have the slight sound sync problem you have, a bit hit and miss, some recordings seem effected more than others.
