Sub,

You are right, but on my system it takes a couple of minutes to load but then settles to 2-4%.

I am still having problems with video playback. It doesn't matter what decoder I am using, the results are the same. The audio is fine but the video is jerky. I am using a dual monitor card but the video is on the primary.

Sub,

It seems to be the VMR9 Custom. It is jerky the same on PVRX2 and GBPVR (with that setting--overlay is great). I have an AMD 3200+ with the ATI X1300 Pro. I don't know what else to try to fix it.

Is there any kind of setting (windows related) that can fix this?

Nothing springs to mind, but I'll keep thinking about it.

For most people VMR9 Custom works fine, so we need to work out what is different about your machine.

I'm poking around in the Sticky on mpeg2 playback. I tried the quartz.dll trick and it didn't work.

Sub,

I might be in ok shape now. I am running with the older quartz.dll (902), I am running PVRX2 -fse, turned off deinterlacing and setup ffdshow. It seems to be working well after I let PVRX2 settle down to less than 100% CPU (couple of minutes).

Ok, that sounds like progress at least.

The heavy CPU usage at startup will be while its loading the EPG in the background. How long this takes depends on how many channels you've got, and how many days of listings. I'll see if I can make it more efficent in future.

Yes,

I have lots of channels and 11 days. I watched a number of videos (HD) and they look fine now.

Thanks,
