What skin are you using with PVRX2 and why?

I wish I had a small fraction of Dottore's talents, as I often use his button images and such.

I know what you mean, I had a go at making a variant of his green selectectors and buttons but gave up because they looked s%*t. Really do need to get an artist on board...

McBainUK, do you think the fact that even if images are small and transparent, they bog your system down? I can remedy that somewhat with a special baseskin.xml that doesn't even try to give images for normal state items.

I'm fine doing the XML edits myself but after some testing last night I realised that I was using the system tray icon to launch PVRX2 and this doen's use the -fse command which seems to make quite a bit of difference.

(If you are using the new background from one of the previews of Community3, be advised it is a Playstation 3 1920x1280 image and the file size is significantly larger than most others).

I've resized this on mine so this isn't a problem

I have settled on the default blue skin for several GBPVR versions now. The few times I have tried other skins there always seems to be something that doesn't work or look quite right.

I will probably give some alternative skins a try again when I get a new widescreen TV.

I also have trouble reading the new smaller fonts on PVRX2. I'm still using my old 27" tv about 10' from the sofa.

ditto, I am decent at hacking stuff together, but for actually creating it... well I could (and probably will have to) recreate the stuff he made, but as for coming up with it myself... never


what variant were you trying to make? if you were trying to change the color, take a look at the stuff I uploaded for sassari, it allows you to change the color pretty easily.
