hello
Sorry to be a pain .. I bought one of the most cheapest tv tuners from Dick Smiths about 6 months back and I cant find any sofware other than what came with it to even watch tv with . most of the times when I do record a show they dont play back properly .. Now I am thinking I would really like to get a Haupage dual tuner thingy 500 . Now then I think I would have better picture quality .. and maybe some PVR softwares ,inculding this one will actually see the card .. I dual boot in Ubuntu sometimes and havent had ANY luck with this current tv card .. So once I buy the new HW I can begin my PVR journey.. The thing I was wondering is .. Does anyone have any NZ specfic help like chanel guides and so forth .. first experiment will be just using an areial and getting free to air channels up and running .. Then maybe later I will invest in some freeview equipment , and I am hoping I will not hit to many snags ..
Any help /advice will be really aprecated
k

yeah throw the dse tuner away
buy the pvr500
and i would recomend the mce remote works well for what its deigned for (only if you want to use it in lounge)
your pc looks fine so other than the card and remote your good to go
tv listings have a look at http://www.reven.co.nz
other than that just install gbpvr and your card
use the tuning assistant to get your channels etc
read the wiki the link is on the gbpvr.co.nz web site
any more questions ask after you install its easy as

the tuner card has to have hardware mpeg encoding or it will not work with gbpvr all other cards are crap anyway
theres a list of cards on the wiki that will work
the pvr500 is your best bet for dual tuner analog
