Hello all.

I am wondering if anyone can suggest where to find an external USB tuner that can receive NTSC, ATSC and/or QAM? I know of the HDHomeRun - ATSC and QAM solved there, if I go with that. But I've not yet found an external device that supports NTSC w/ hardware encoding.

I am needing USB since my current to-be PVR computer is a Shuttle, with no additional space for a tuner card inside.

Thanks for any help!

I'm not aware of any device that provides all of these.

As you've pointed out, the HDHomeRun is probably the the closest, giving you ATSC via OTA and QAM.

Just wanted to add another option
The AVerTV Hybrid Ultra USB (AP6 R) Offers ATSC and NTSC with the required hardware encoder, but it doesn't do QAM. It should be supported already by entries for other aver usb cards, or at lest it wouldn't be hard to add.

Maybe I am misunderstanding.. but I believe the OnAir GT does all of that...

I mean I have one, with a indoor HDTV antenna and a splitter/combiner of my Digital cable for clear QAM tuning. I see all my local channels both in analog and digital.

No, it's analog side is software encoding only, so not supported.
