you need to add this to a shortcut to pvrx2.exe and start it from there

heres a pic easier than explaining

in the blue see the -fse at the end add that it made a big difference for me

Tried this as well, with the same result as running PVRX2.exe without -fse.
Any more ideas - just shoot and I'll try it out.

Doing it in the TV is probably too general, unless you can do it for each input separately. The graphics card would be the best option in my opinion. If that doesn;t work, you can add a black border around GBPVR, by manually editing the <OverScanBorder...> properties in the config.xml.

Thanks for this tip, I can't see how I can do it in the Tele or using ATI CCC. I will give the overscanborder a go. Thanks for the tip.

I use nVidia as well (embedded 6150). Can you explain what extra crap you have turned off and what the vertical sync is, since I'm still not very happy with my nVidia chip.

How is yours connected to your TV? Mine is connected with a component cable and the video image is superb then, but I lose TV-out signal when playing DVDs. I still have to try if the same happens with S-VHS, which I do not like because of the overscan-correction that I cannot turn off.

Sorry, if hijacking this thead.

anisotropic filtering and antilaising in your 3d properties for you video driver
i use component at the monent im using an interlaced signal as the card wouldnt let me set the refresh rate to what i wanted on progressive plus the tv gave a slight flicker on progressive(tv is letting the me down i think)
but i use dvi on my projector and progressive gives the best piucture on that

You should also check to see if there are any power management settings or power schemes that are limiting your CPU.

In XP, check:

Control Panel
Power Options

Is there anything there that references CPU power management? I don't have XP running so there may be another place this is being managed...

In Vista there is a similar issue. By default Vista sets the the power plan to balanced. The default CPU settings limit the processing power that your CPU can use in the name of energy savings. In my case all of my playback issues were cleared up when I changed the power scheme to 'High Performance'.

This is even more critical for on-board video ...

another thing is cause its a plasma the resolution is lower(from what i have read) than a lcd try and match the output of your card to the resolution of your screen if you cant at least make it lower then the video processor wont have to work as hard
ie 1024x768 (if that is the native resolution of your plasma)
where you had it set set something higher
so look up the specs of your plasma and see what the native resolution is
(not what it will accept)
If you can get this set to the right resolution then the tv doesnt have to try and scale it which will take out another calculation(process) making the picture smoother

does your onboard graphics support direct 3d? if not that will be your problem, if it does try updating the drivers.
