I dont really know anything about Leadtek cards, but I know some other user have supplied bda.ini sections that had worked for them with Leadtek cards, so you might get lucky.

Problems like these are why I usually recommend Hauppauge cards when people ask for recommendations. It makes life easier when you have common cards that hundreds of others here are using.

Being on the list of cards that some other user has confirmed to have worked for them is not the same as having a common card - particularly one that I own and can test with. I pretty much only have Hauppauge devices (and a couple of Twinhan and FireDTV devices), so these are all I recommend people buy.

Yes, its now up and running. I have not dared to try the newest drivers, but the windows hotfix and the above metioned driver are working.

For info to anyone who has the same issue, i do have:

.net 1
.net 1 sp
.net 1 security updated

as above but for .net 2

and .net 3

I suspect the .net is a red herring, but as I am not going to go back and test the combination of driver level, .net level with hotfix present or not present....i will never know.

So, now I have to sort out he minor issues.........

A long story but after a clean re-install piece by piece due to other issues (ATI catylist stealing focus) ......

(i dont think i've ever managed to 1 widows install and be happy without a second with lessons learnt!)

......it had nothing to do with the hot fix mentioned above, but it was the hauppauge mpeg2 decoder software even though i am sill set as system default in config.exe.

See ataached file, but i installed .net 1 1.1 1.1 security, 2 and all updates, 3 and all updates, the windows patch mentioned above, but I still had sound but no picture, then I started playing with the haupauge cd and I got a picture only afer installing the mpeg2 software decoder.

By the way I am now using a nova T 500, the terreatec exhibits the same issue though.

Sub,
This is fixed it but (not suprisingly) i dont understand why....can you enlighten me.

out.

Its hard to read that text, but it looks like you needed to install the Hauppauge MPEG decoders. You do need to an MPEG2 decoder installed to use GB-PVR, so I'm not surprised if it wasnt working until you installed one.
