key mapping

when i press the "*" key on my remote i get an 8 press i realise this is the same key on the key board but is this hard coded
Is there a way to stop them been linked so that when i prees the star key i dont get an 8 when watching live tv ?

The '*' isnt usually mapped to anything. It doesnt do anything on my remote.

What type of remote are you using, and where are you talking about in the application? Are you using HIP?

i am using Hip but i dont use hip to control any keys it just starts the app
on your keyboard the *is the same key as 8 if i press the * key mce remote it comes up 8 on the screen and goes to that channel
the thing is i use the * key for my aspect ratio so when i hit that while watching live tv it goes to that channel or if i hit the * key then hit fast forward it goes 8 minutes forward
i will disable hip and get back to you

hip is no longer loaded and it still does it so its something to do with how the mce remote uses the keyboard links only on live tv is it a problem
i dont use live tv that much so its not that much of problem just more annoying than anything
