I upgraded to FIOS earlier this year and had no luck with the Hauppauge IR Blaster and the Motorola QIP2500. After trying every code set and placing multiple requests into their support to add the QIP2500 set top box, I just purchased the USB UIRT. I have it about 90% working. No problems with the driver install and no problems with learning the codes.

My problem is when I go to change the channels. If I select, for example, 222 on the remote, the screen shows 102 as if either GBPVR or the USB UIRT is sending the wrong digits. If I hit channel up and channel down on the remote, it looks like it keeps trying to go back to channel 102.

I deleted and tried to re-learn the remote several times and it looks like it is still sending the wrong digits.

Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like its only marginally learning the signals, or the delays between digits are incorrect.

You could try tweaking the following to settings in your learned file at C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\IR Definitions\USB-UIRT

InterCodeDelay 200
RepeatCount 3

(these are the default values if the lines arent present. They should be the second and third lines in the file)

Sub, I gave that a try. I am still getting weird results.

I put the USB-UIRT back in learn mode and backed up the original file. I have attached both files. The codes seem to be slightly different for each number when I re-learn the remote. Are they supposed to be exact?

Also, here are some results of some random channel change testing.

When I hit the first number below and enter, the number next to it displays on the TV. Since the TV takes 3 digits, the 4th digit appears after the 3 are sent and the channel changes. It consistently produces the combinations below every time I enter the digits.

Type On Screen
----- ---------
400 97
2 106 5
105 100 9
100 93
200 104 5

I dont know.

Assuming your channel numbers are correct in your capture source channel list, then I'm guessing the USB-UIRT is failing to successfully learn your remote's signal.

I seem to remember there was a couple of utilities on the USB-UIRT forums for recording and playing back signals. It might worth trying these to see if you can get it reliably changing channels to the number you specify.

Everything is good!

The last post helped steer me in the right troubleshooting direction. I downloaded the helper app from the USB-UIRT forum and it was learning and sending the right codes.

I then turned on full debugging in GBPVR and saw that it when I select channel 400 from the tv guide, it was sending channel 1074 to the USB-UIRT.

Your post mentioned the capture source channels. I did empty the EPG when I went from DirecTV to FIOS, but what is saw is that it kept the old channel mapping and then appended the new channels. Even though the guide said channel 400, behind the scenes it was mapped to channel 1074.

So to solve it, I first emptied the EPG and removed unreferenced channels. That did not totally fix it, so I loaded the SQLite DB utility and started to clear out some tables. I don't have the exact names, but I cleared the channels tables, source channel mapping, genre, recordings and a few others.

I updated the EPG and then updated the channel listing.

All is working great now.

Thank you for your help!
