i have tried with QAM & ATSC (in US, on cable vision)
I cannot get digital to detect anything when I run the Digital to EPG scan. Do I have to edit the file still ? I installed GBPVR less than 14 days ago.

You don't have to edit the dba.ini if you just installed a newer copy of gbpvr.
To get it going you have to:
1. make sure your cable company provides QAM in the clear by checking with another TV with a built in QAM tuner if you plan on tuning QAM. Hook up an amplified antenna to a tv with an ATSC tuner to make sure you have a decent signal if you are planning on tuning ATSC.
2. install the latest 650 pro drivers from AMD/ATI
3. make sure that you have the cable hooked up to the digital input
4. select ATI 650 Pro (QAM) for QAM, or ATI 650 Pro (ATSC) for ATSC as your card, then run the scan.
6. you may need to amplify the signal for cable. I had troubles tuning a few channels without an amp.

I tried getting the 650 pro to tune QAM in Vista pro 64 bit, and it didn't work with gbpvr, mce (with mce tv update installed), or in the "new" version of catalyst media center. It did tune ATSC fine. I think it may be a 64 bit driver thing?

As noted earlier, I have both a built by ATI card, and a Visiontek card, and they both work under XP sp3.

I don't have a copy of Vista 32 bit to try it on, but I have read in various forums about installing XP drivers on vista to get QAM to work... You'll have to google it, because I don't recall the forum(s) and that is how I stumbled on them...

Wish I could be of more help.

I didn't get to read this before I got it working, but those steps should help other's in the future, so I'm very glad you said that so specifically!
Except for your step one, I tried most of those thing, I think what helped, was step 3 I was trying things with only 1 input hooked up!

I think its another thread here, that talks about 650 Pro QAM needing to be specifically configured a certain way.

For complexity's sake, I am still not 100% sure what driver my Vista is using for the card, but it was working in live TV.
I downloaded & installed the drivers for windows Vista & XP, 32 bit & 64 bit in the end & have run them all.

Last I checked, scanning digital to EPG didn't display any info, but I can still tune to tons of channels so either analog gets all of them, or digitals working & just doesnt look right during configuration stage. I have another thread I've been talking with people in & I will be posting logs when I get home from this weekend.

Currently I am away from home & don't have my system Web enabled, and last I checked, I could not get other systems on my network w/gbpvr installed to work; thats next weeks project.
--Thanks BTW!
