There are 4 files. I think that Windows by default uses the frequencies in the us-hrc.ini file but I'm not positive so I created a file for it. For most people that use other frequencies, the us-cable.ini file will work. I've added an alternate that offsets the frequencies by 250khz just in case. us-irc.ini will probably never be needed because the frequencies are very close to us-cable.ini and most tuners are tolerant enough to tune them but may as well be thorough.

To use, just rename gbpvr\BDA\ATSC\qam.ini to qam.bak and then rename the file you want to use as qam.ini in the same location.

Edit: I did them as separate files so that the number before the "=" corresponds to the physical channel of the frequency.

As a minor request, how difficult would it be to implement something so that when running a scan, the result uses the virtual channel number instead of the frequency so that if the ini file has "71=507000,71,0", the scan result would show "71.1 (000)" instead of "507000 (000)"?

Yeah, we could probably do that (though you might have to bump the request in a week or two so I dont forget). The CVCT PSIP major/minor numbers will still take precedence though if they are being broadcast.

Sounds good, thanks. I'll repost the above files with the virtual numbers shortly.

I am working on a single master qam.ini that will scan every single frequency regardless of what system is used. A scan using this file will take a long time and it won't have the virtual numbers because of overlaps but it should ensure that all QAM channels are found.

This file contains the following:

No virtual numbers because of overlaps
qam.ini will scan all possible cable frequencies. (320 frequencies)
qam (with ota).ini will scan all possible cable frequencies and all ota frequencies. (390 frequencies) I included this because in my work with the HDHomeRun I've seen the rare occasion where a cable company also used OTA frequencies.

With Virtual numbers
us-cable.ini will scan frequencies used by most cable companies.
us-cable (alt).ini will scan frequencies used by most cable companies with a 250khz offset (this will probably never be used).
us-hrc.ini will scan hrc frequencies used by most cable companies. (I believe these are the frequencies scanned with the normal Windows channel mapping).
us-irc.ini will scan irc frequencies used by most cable companies. (us-cable.ini will work for most of these with the exception of a couple of channels like 5 and 6).

Thank you for posting the frequencies, that did the trick for me. My tuner found about 60 or 70 different channels, most of which do not come in so I am assuming they are music channels. Unfortunately, now I don't have sound on the digital channels I receive. The analog side works fine. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Sad

You most likely dont have a AC3 capable audio decoder installed. Try installing AC3Filter.

The full qam.ini errored out when I tried to run the scan. The us.cable.ini worked perfect. It found all the channels my tv found. My next issue is getting the playback in the preview window to play normally instead of like a slide show. I've tried the 2 mux codecs I have installed(windows and cyberlink) I've also tried all the installed renders and overlay. Processor shows to be running between 50 - 75% when trying to preview a digital channel. I'm using the new drivers for the card. what codec/mux should I be using with this card?

Thanks for your time
