Hi
Can anyone please help

I have connected 2 MVP`s via homeplugs, the homeplug is connect to a pc via a router, but the mvp`s won`t connect to the pc to load the dongle, I`ve also tried mvpmc dongle, the MVP`s get to the last 2 bars but no further, I`ve tried turning the firewall off but still no joy.

Anybody got any ideas? anyway of checking whats blocking the network?

I`ve have got them working twice but when I turned them off I couldn`t get them to work again.

Thanks for any advice

Pete

I'd first quick checks would be to check

1. the router and see that the mvp's are being assigned an IP and then
2. that a firewall isn't an issue (most common problem posted here)
3. the config program to make sure you are autostarting the mvp servers

Cheers Martin

I have checked the router and each MVP has got its own IP address (marked as unknown though)

The firewall is turned off

The autostarts set to 3

They are working again now, but not sure for how long, I`ll post back if it happen`s again

Thanks for the advice

Whenever I have a powercut, i find turned the MVPs (I have 2) on one at a time sorts it. For some reason they can't both download the dongle at the same time.

sub,

is this something that can be fixed. I got 5 mvp's and have to walk the house unplugging all of them then plug one in at a time to get it to load the application.

I'm not away of any issue that should cause this, but if you can post logs showing the problem then I'll take a look.

I've been doing the same thing for years, and many versions of GBPVR, whenever the power is lost. It is just part of the normal post-outage process for me now. Just like resetting all the clocks! Smile

I just restart the recording service on the GB-PVR server. This restarts the MVP servers also and then everything works fine. Even my little MVPIcon.dll plugin icons pop up in the system tray. I'm using mvpmc and it will be at the main mvpmc screen since it could not find the server, but just selecting "Emulation Mode" from the menu and clicking OK has me MVP's back online in just a few seconds.
