bgowland - you are a glittering star on the podium of DVB-T configuration advice. Big Grin

Your cache file and instructions worked perfectly. I am up-n-running and all seems to be working in tip-top condition. Thanks so much, it really was very kind of you to take the time to help me and I really appreciate it.

When freeview updates their broadcast details to, say, add more channels, I'll be in trouble again. Would it be ok for me to PM you here in this forum to get your updated cache file again? Is channel adding the only circumstances under which they update their broadcast info. requiring a TV/GB-PVR scan (in other words might I need your updated cache file under other conditions)?

Thanks again.

Aw shucks - you're too kind. Smile

Sure - no problem. It'd probably be just as easy to edit the existing cache file by hand (it's a text file). Get in touch and I can let you have the data required - it would be just a case of copy and pasting the extra line(s) needed for the channel tuning info.

Yes, mostly. There have been occasions where they've change the service ID of some of the regional channels (I'm guessing to bring them in line nationally). Crystal Palace seems to be the 'template' though so hasn't changed in that respect (to my knowledge).

Glad things are working for you - enjoy!

Cheers,
Brian

PS Keep a backup of that cache file!!! Smile

Didn't realize it was a text file, but have taken a look at it and doing it the way you suggest will be easy. Good idea.

I've already backed it up on 2 hard disks, and have uploaded it off-site to my online backup depository in the US. So I've 3 local copies (not inc. the zip), the attachment online in your post above, and one in my 5GB ftp online backup 'solution'. My backup motto is 'back up on at least 2 continants'. Big Grin There could be a nuclear war and I'd be backed up enough to still watch TV with GB-PVR even if only to watch the 'if you are watching this, I hope like hell you're in a nuclear survival bunker, otherwise what the f**k are you doing wasting time watching TV' broadcast message.

Thanks again. Now to look into the plug-ins...
