I've been using gbpvr for about a month now and I'm slowly ironing the bugs out of my setup.

I have noticed a new problem, i am not sure if it arrived with the new release or the updated ATI cataylist drives, or in fact anything else I've played with in the last 2 weeks.

If I wake my machine up from stanby I get poor video performance on live tv, i get horizontal tearing half way down the screen and a few other glitches. exiting pvrx2 and re-starting fixes the issue.

I have tried S1 S2 and hibernate and they all do the same thing, if I exit pvrx2 before standby then its ok (same as restarting pvrx2).

I have attached logs in which I have done a fresh boot, gone to live tv, exited live tv, standby then resume.

CPU doesnt show any significant spikes at any time.

I have a few other gripes like C4 E4 having a stutter every 2 minutes or so, but its minor compared to my wake up issue.

XP home, Gigabyte 690 m/b, onboard ATI x1200, athlon x2 be2300 cpu, HDMI to the TV. .Net 1 2 & 3, EVR.........

Just noticed I am also getting these errors in the system event viewer:

The Parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I've always had an issue with Live TV when resuming from standby...in fact a few people on here have as far as I'm aware. Mine just stutters, or looks slow until the app is closed and restarted.

There exists a utility called GBPVRWake http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ppy+resume which, when combined with a wake.cmd file, kills the GBPVR or PVRX2 process and restarts it.

You're not using a hauppauge card are you? It's the only thing I don't like about GBPVR on my systems.

I'm not sure if the issue is limited to Hauppauge devices (can someone else advise?), but there are three in my household and they all suffer the same problem:

Nova-T PCI
Nova-T Stick
Nova-T 500

As I say though, I don't get tearing just a slowdown or stutter, so there's a chance it could be something else I guess? Did you see the issue with the previous version of PVRX2?

BTW, you may need to amend any wake.cmd file to point at pvrx2.exe rather than gbpvr.exe.

I dont think I had the issue with the previous version, but as I am still getting setup lots of things on my machine are changing.

I still have issues with autotranscode causing a crash in the middle of the night, so this may have masked the issue because I only recently turned this off so that I didnt have to re-boot every morning.

+ I recently put the new ATI drivers, ATI MPEG decoder, and ATI mux on all at the same time.

I also had an issue with SYSTEM using 50% after standbuy that arrived with one of the changes, which I only fixed yesterday (I think!), this was fixed by a Microsoft hotfix that gave me a new version of ntkrnlpa.exe.

So time to backup becuase the todo list is getting shorter!

Thanks for the help.

Cool, please let me know how you get on, and whether you fix the tearing!

BTW, I find I get tearing with ATI drivers if the general quality is set to low using the catalyst control center...
