largelumox - I too have a Mac Book Pro in the house with VMware and can get PVRX2 to load but experience the same issues as you, i.e., most everything works, except no video (the most important part).
I can play the .mpg recordings with Intervideo WinDVD in VMware with no problem, and this is the same MPEG-2 video playback decoder I have configures in GBPVR as well. At this point I am stumped. I do have other GBPVR clients working (a PC notebook as well as my MediaMVP - so I know the server is setup correctly). Please let me know if you find anything.

wil,
no news here I'm afraid, I have not tried this out with Parallels yet though...have you?

largelumox,
no, i do not own parallels and have not loaded it on my mac... this is kind of a bummer as i am in the process of moving the house over from pc's to mac's and would like to keep gbpvr as my dvr. i am thinking of downloading sage to give it a try as it has a native mac client, but am really happy with gbpvr and am reluctant to switch. oh well, life isn't that bad, i could have worse dilemmas

wil,
i am dedicated to staying with gbpvr on my main box, so as a temporary work around i am streaming to the mac (and using vlc) from within the EWA it seems to work pretty well

excellent news, i have just installed 2.0b1, but it is not working for me yet. please let me know any settings that might be relevant...of course it could be that my macbook does not have the grunt compared to your pro. EDIT...now its working, a couple of minor issues (Escape key takes forever to escape out of a playing show the biggest issue) but video and audio in sync and playback not stuttering using a wireless G connection for SD programming.

I'm using a Mac Mini with XP bootcamp. 1.83 GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, Graphics is Intel 945.
I've recently installed the latest version of gbpvr. All seems well and configuration picks up my old Kworld external dvb-t usb device with the compatible BDA drivers Kworld 3000u USB. Weather, TV listings, searchwiz plugins all seem to work as expected. Two main issues have arisen however: 1. Channel mapping crashes in stage 6 i.e. the last part of tuning cycle with message below. "GB-PVR Configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". The unhandled exception error message also pops up sometimes preceeded by a faint hard disk grinding noise. I can quit out of the first crash message and continue, but only the channels up to the crash are working once I open pvrx2. 2. Also, I've instaled SkinPlugin3.2_Setup.exe and community.exe to get the skin changing options going. None of the skin option buttons work. Is there a patch I have not found already out for this? I've attached the logs of the crash noted in point 1. |
