Help installing HVR-900H

My XP SP3 has the latest updated drivers from Hauppauge and PowerCinema 5.1 patches to watch FreeviewHD DVB-T. Works fine but prefer the GBPVR interface.

When I try to install a fresh GBPVR 1.2.9, capture device config complains it can't see any devices. I've rebooted twice just to make sure nothing else is using the device. Logs enclosed.


What am I doing wrong here? With the latest drivers it's now listed in windows devices as HVR-900H (66xxx). Not sure if that makes a difference.

Do you have another capture device in your system? If so, were you aware that this HVR900 will be device #1? The device number is only increased if you have multiple devices using the same drivers. This is the most common reason for this error with common device type.

If its already set as device #1, then run the filtercheck utility from the gbpvr directory, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log that gets created and I'll take a look.

No other tuners. The closest thing to another device is a usb webcam which is not currently plugged in.

How do I check the device numbers?

According to that filtercheck.log there are no BDA devices installed on your machine. Either it is unplugged, or the drivers are not installed.

Opps sorry. I unplugged it to try on another machine. Any way I've plugged it back and here's the filter.log again.

Try adding this to the bda.ini file:

i also tried installing the hvr-900h and got the same problems as engnz.

i'm using vista instead of winxp, and the bda.ini already listed the correct device, but still gbpvr wouldn't find it.

engnz's problem was fixed above. Yours probably isnt the same problem.

Run filtercheck.exe and attach the filtercheck.log.
